Title:
Assembling quantum matter atom by atom
Abstract:
Exotic phenomena can emerge in strongly interacting quantum matter, including topological materials, quantum magnetism, and non-equilibrium systems. Cold atoms provide a particularly intriguing setting to create and study synthetic quantum matter thanks to the possibility of controlling the systems at the level of single particles and lattice sites. In my talk, I will show how this precise control enables us to prepare, evolve, and read out on-demand quantum states. Furthermore, I will present recent studies on entanglement dynamics in many-body-localized systems, and on the microscopic nature of fractional quantum Hall states.
