PD Dr. Maria Chekhova, Dr. Birgit Stiller, Wednesdays, 10:00 - 11:30 The course consists of 12-14 lectures covering basic concepts of nonlinear optics, namely: Nonlinear susceptibilities; second-order nonlinear processes (second harmonic generation, three-wave mixing, parametric amplification and down-conversion); third-order nonlinear processes (third-harmonic generation, four-wave mixing, Kerr effect), spontaneous and stimulated Brillouin and Raman scattering and other related subjects. The course is taught online and recorded using Zoom.
