Machine Learning (ML) and particularly, Deep Learning (DL) are at the foundation of recent breakthroughs in the computer vision, automatic speech
recognition and natural language processing. The extreme challenges for the next generation of wireless systems have highlighted the inherent limitations
of conventional communication theory in handling large data and ultra-high-rate communications requirements in complex scenarios. ML and DL are fundamental tools to model complex scenarios while providing eective and fast
signal processing without enforcing the suboptimal modular structure of conventional communications systems. As such, ML and DL for Communications
is an emerging field in communications and this course will introduce the student to cutting-edge fundamental advancements in communications.
